I hate to keep making threads like this, but the warranty from Kershaw rocks. I sent in my taskmaster scissors to be sharpened and instead they sent me a brand new pair!!!!!! Talk about awesome service, i have never dealt with a better company or warranty(minus maybe snap on lol). Just wanted to issue a very warm welcome to Kershaw for this one.

Thanks kershaw!!

How do you like those? I've been looking for another set of shears for the kitchen.

Thats mainly what i use them for, we process 30-40 chickens twice a year and thats their main use.

Well then...that sells them for me. :D Thanks greenie! Glad they just tossed you a new pair. That's pretty slick.

Top notch customer service is the key to American manufacturing surviving. Kershaw has figured this out.

Oh you guys, I'm going to have to order a couple sets for our home and the inlaws. Also, yes Kershaw has some of the best service and support. They are pretty much the Gold standard.

Yes, it sounds like KAI has top notch service. The sharpening service is pretty outstanding and free as well.

I really oughts to get some of those. been eyeing them for some time.

just to add to this story i sent my 551 in for some repairs/fixes and i called today to check the status first off he said it would be delivered to me today and secondly i asked him what they did or if they had record of it. he said well for starters the only thing that stayed original to your knife was the blade and the scale. we sharpened the blade up as u requested replaced liner with a brand new one since yours was an early production defect that corroded and we replaced all the screws and busings and gave you a new frame and hand fitted it to the lock face on your blade because without replacing the blade that was the only way to make it lock up solid.

So what you're saying is their customer service is over-built just like their knives?

Well to save some horrible mis information I was given they replaced the complete knife with brand new in box 551 and it had same issues as last so its going back as well as my 561 with some lock rock too. And a person in warranty dept said she would hand pick my 551 replacement to stop any further issues

I have 4 pair of these. I saw them first one year at the factory sale but then didn't get some and then the next year they said they sold the last one 10 minutes or so before I walked over. Then I found a set in a leather sheath with a bird and trout knife on clearance at a local sporting goods store. The sheath and little knife are in my knife safe but the shears went to the kitchen. They were so much more durable and cut better than anything else we've used that I headed right for them and bought 3 more pair at the factory sale after that. Ours have rusted a bit more than the other shears we have. They hold an edge much better though than anything and I suspect the reason they have rusted more is simply because they have been used much more. The other shears dulled so quickly that they were more trouble than a knife.
