So a friend of mine has a birthday coming up and I had no idea what to get her. She has a beat up original Yojimbo and has been dropping YJ2 hints for a month.... Sooooo I found the YJ2 at Knifeworks.com and this time I didn't just skip over the engraving option. The final price with shipping and engraving came out to be just over $110 or so. This is the first knife I've had personalized and the first knife I can't wait to give away!

I'm not a fan of taking pics because... well I just suck at it. But I felt I had to show off the beautiful work of the guys and gals of Knifeworks, as well as the strangely coincidental weather :)

Suck at taking pics? Those look good to me! I especially like the first. What a great knife and present too. I'm sure she will love it.

lol Thank YOU, everyone!

Yes, those are the last of probably 30 pics taken. I couldn't get the light at the right angle and finally cut/cropped these xD
But I have a lot of folders... so maybe I'll start practicing

I love my yoyo 2! She's gonna love it as well, especially with it engraved. Nice pickup.

Excellent!! Great gift!........want to be my friend? Haha
If you go by Yuki, are 5' tall, 90 lbs soaking wet, and can throw my 200 lb ass over your hip, then that knife is yours. xD

Yesterday, my childhood friend turned 30. Our parents met and became friends about 25 years ago our first karate class.
Last night I saw her cry for the first time. Well, a sniffle and making watery eye contact is practically a wail for her family. Thank you all for the positive comments... confidence doesn't come easy to me.

You are a thoughtful person Bazillions, the personalization was also a very nice tough. It's nice to know that the gesture was so well received as well as possibly needed (based on the older used Yo). I'd say you scored yourself some good marks for the friendship for life column.

A double coincidence. I just got an engraved Y2 from knifeworks too. The engraving was perfect and just what I requested. Also this Y2 which replaced an earlier one that I returned (to another seller) didn't have the grind marks and other QC issues of the earlier one. Knifeworks back stopped that aspect too. Great service.

This place never ceases to amaze me. When I started collecting folders again, any knife related question I Googled listed numerous BF's posts. I lurked as most of my forum experience has been with video games. Yea, trollolol.
I've been registered here for < 2 months and have seen more generosity, compliments, and what seems to be... sincere kindness (?) than I have ever seen before.

The things that stand out are:
1. Intelligence isn't mocked; it's respected. Those with knowledge don't flex egos; they inform and share.
2. um, I thought I had three things to list but I think I covered everything in 1.
3. Why was I sofa-king lazy and waited until Dec-Jan 2013 to create an account? O_o

While struggling with obscene amounts of wrapping paper and a combination of packing and scotch tape, I noticed the letters below the name of the knife on the barcode didn't look familiar. I fished out my Yj2 box to find one listed AM and another BM (like an idiot I got them mixed up). I kept the AM as it looked more worn. My brown PM2 box label also says AM under its name. I once thought they were locations but am not sure anymore.

*edit* Oh jeeze, I forgot to congratulate you! Great minds...

Bazillions, AM and BM on a Spyderco box are manufacture date codes. The first letter is the month and the second is the last digit of that production year. AM is January 2013 and the other is February 2013. And thanks for the congrats!

that's awesome,I might have to find a reason to buy something to get it engraved
