I really don't know where to begin so I will just try to convey my honest and heartfelt Thank You to Mark (Marksharp). So many of you have made me feel at home here and I am extremely happy to have so many friends on the porch and now I have experienced the generosity that I have read about so many times on the Bladeforums Tradtitional Folders and Fixed Blades subforum. Mark, Thank you so much for the thoughtful, generous gift. You, my friend are such a standout, talented, generous and admired member of the traditional knife community. Now Mark, I would have been surprised, appreciative, and very thankful if you had sent me any old traditional but you have gone way above and beyond the norm of giving that I was blown away, amazed and so happy when I first saw the handwritten note from you thanking me for my friendship and a mint condition Case XX Dogleg Jack 6207 in redbone covers. I know I am fairly new to collecting traditional but I have never seen a knife this old and in this good condition at the same time. Mark you have made me see a few errors in my opinion so I want to thank you for that also. I didn't realize the old Case knives were built this well, really a solid, heavy duty knife. The fit and finish are amazing, pins are flush, bone covers feel like melted butter, centered blades, transitions from scales to bolsters, the dye and jigging are superb, and the walk and talk and halfstops on both blades are just amazing.
Now as amazing as this knife is, it is the very generous act of kindness and friendship that I will always remember. Mark, I know you are at least as busy as I am, and I know with work, building knives, and the recent loss of your Mother that you have been kept you in a constant state of turmoil otherwise you would have made it to the Rendezvous so I really want to thank you for taking the time, the generous gift, and most important, the friendship you have given me. I know when you call someone friend you truly mean it. I feel very honored and blessed to call you my friend Mark.
Below are a few pictures of the knife that was gifted to me from Mark. (Sorry, I did not clean it yet and I wish my photography skills and cell phone camera could do it justice)
Thanks again,
