I do a sweep every once in a while to check the status of fake/counterfeit buck knives being sold by Americans on the auction site. It goes like this: 200 results using advanced search "Buck Knives" located in the USA. This morning's results = 0.

This is a hearty internet handclasp to you honest hard-working members who made this happen. You know who you are. You have 1/2 a beer coming.

This was California Dave's heart's desire. May he rest in peace.

Now for the rest of the world's sellers...
 
I go through and flag all the counterfeits I see, it is good to see that Ebay is actually taking them down. Even had one pop up in a Facebook group. It was unfortunate because the fella thought he had gotten a deal on a rare Buck. A prime example of how counterfeits can hurt a community. This man trusted the Buck name and was suckered in by the misuse of it.

Thank you. That is a terrific approach for you to take. Let the vendor's host know that their seller's item is a fake/counterfeit.

In direct conversation with ebay, and with sellers and buyers, I provide a link to the sticky thread showing known fakes/counterfeits. The sticky thread has gotten a little wordy but in general it is a quick and reliable visual reference guide for identifying Buck fakes and counterfeits for everyone everywhere. Please don't hesitate to add photos and location of sellers of new known Buck fakes/counterfeits you find.
 
zzzzzz, please consider removing your vendor information in your first post as, IMHO, it violates Bladeforum's rules prohibiting the advertising of unauthorized vendors. Thank you. Welcome to the forum. If you enable email messages can be received directly.
 
Should you find fakes/counterfeits being sold from inside your resident state Homeland Security is the resource for launching a counter offensive. Point them at the sticky for proof.

If the fake/counterfeit vendor within your resident state is your state, confiscated property sales for example (this happens), contact your state's attorney general. Point them at the sticky for proof.
 
There are still many of these fake Bucks on ebay; MORE then 10 people selling the Rock Mountain Elk knife on the "secret site that does $10,000 a minute" link removed"""""Buck can't stop them, and they are now coming in fake boxes also and added a guthook early this year!!

There are many foreign sellers of fakes/counterfeits. I don't know of anyone who would disagree.

Can you outline your remedy?

NO; You go first........If BUCK has given up; there is none! But it matters little if an AMERICAN is selling them or they come from Chiina; if the source is not stopped it matters little who is selling them on the secret site....lol

Here is my plan: Educate Americans, buyers and sellers, so that they have an informed base when purchasing Buck knives. Notice the pictorial sticky above. Locate US distributors, smugglers and sellers so that American law enforcement can enter into the equation. Fakes and counterfeits are an open attack on American intellectual property. They threaten the security of our homeland. I ask all of you reading these words and all Americans with direct personal knowledge, presently or formerly involved in in any way in fake/counterfeit trading, to contact the Homeland Security and set things right.
 
Glad to hear that some are being kicked off the site but there are still more there selling their fake Buck knives. I was flagging them a year ago or so but noticed nothing was being done about it so I finally gave up. At that time they did not seem to care, I called their support and they just told me to keep flagging their listings but at that time it did no good no matter how many flags I did even against the same seller. Glad to hear they are doing something about it now. It was getting rediculous how many fakes were being sold everyday and their feedback was showing that only a small number of buyers figured it out once they received their knife. I will start flagging them again and see if they do something about it this time.

Knowledge is power in fighting this problem. Lets keep it up.
