I am a fairly new knife nut. I have always trusted and carried a buck, but my appreciation was always in the utility of the tool and it's hardiness around the farm. When I found this forum, I was simply studying knives to replace a lost knife. The members passion and knowledge persuaded me to buy a new Vantage Force Pro, Vantage Force Select, Mini Alpha AG (times 2), Alpha Dorado, 110 and 112FG. When added to the hunting and processing 110, 107 and Vanguard I think I have the start of a collection.
I have been using all of the new knives as needed and even invented things to do with a new toy. I have been amazed with the new steel (S30v) and designs. Turning a recently deceased deer into bite sized portions was a breeze with more specialized tools and was actually more fun than chore. The Vantage Force Pro was amazing at turning large muscles into small pieces of meat. It impressed me so much I will get a couple more.
I just wanted to pop in and thank Blade Forums and it's great members for inspiring me to try a few new things and igniting a new passion for Buck knives that is becoming a hobby. Heck, I even notice the detail and art in the knives now! Thanks again and keep up the good work.
