I was looking for a perfect Stud material for a Fisk bowie that I aquired recently and what could be better than one made of damascus forged by him. Paul Kessler ( thanks bud) told me to give him a call and what can I say The man hooked me up big time Jerry is the King. If I got what he told me right it is 160 layers with a slow twist. My Gunsmith Lester turned them out and wow this is some tuff stuff we ruined 3 cutting carbides on his lath and 2 drill bits. I took them home and etched them and then rubbed them out. I am very pleased with how they came out and I just wanted to say thanks to all involved. Mr. Jerry you are the man. They are on there way to Mr. Long and I can not wait to see what he comes up with. Here is a pic of one with out the shank cut down let me know what you guy's think. Good or bad it is all good.

IMO, the little subtle touches like your stud is what really take a knife and/or a sheath over the top. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Jerry will always go out of his way to do a guy a favor.

Fantastic work all around ..final step will be getting Mr Long to incorporate that
tasty and functional detail

I'm going to have to talk to Jerry about one of those for my keychain. ;)

we need talk to Jerry about doing some damascus Knuckle dusters

Very cool!

It looks kind'a "tall" ???

I'm stoked to see it on Paul's leather!!!

Next time you do something like this send the raw steel to me first and I'll do some thermal cycles on it and it will machine like butter :)

Thanks for sharing :D

Joe, I like the way Lester made this stud, the thicker edges are nice. Cant wait to see the finished sheath.

Thanks everyone

Mr. Wheeler thanks for the kind offer.

Matt you got I think the first one so we have refined it a bit. The sstud without the shank cut off in the pic was the one I sent to my buddy at the machine shop and that what he is going to try and prouduce on a larger scale. Again thanks to all.

Doh! I didn't realize you said right in the post that the shank wasn't cut down yet. :o lol.

Not "too tall" at all then! :D

Yup...very cool would be what I think too. Nice looking damascus and from what i've seen Mr. Long will definitely use them well.

Hope to see the sheaths when done.

Peter
