Long story short. My Custom 110FG with BG-42, jigged buffalo, and NS bolsters had some blade play when closed that bugged the hell out of me.

I asked Mr. Houser to look at my knife when I sent in and he did.

To his undying credit and my undying customer loyalty, he didn't quibble about the possibility that the knife was still "in spec." To paraphrase, "If I wasn't happy, he'd take care of it."

Did he ever. My Custom 110 is now what I expected all along. It's flawless and both swings and locks up like a vault door. No wobbles open or closed.

It's great to see that in this throwaway society that there are still old school guys concerned about customer service, and who will humor discerning buyers who might be considered by the mass market buyer to be picking nits.

Thank you again Mr. Houser and everyone at the Buck Custom Shop.

I agree with ya,he is definately the guy at Buck who takes pride in taking care of the customers, some of us drive the man nutz ya know.lol,me included,he has done everything humanly possible to help me out and i for one apprechiate all the help he has givin over the years.,thanks Joe!

It is hard to find the words to describe the caliber of man Joe Houser is. He is a true blessing to me, both with Buck Knives and as a Friend! :)
Glad Boats and Blades have started this thread. Everything good we can say about you, Joe, is well-deserved!

Dave

I didn't know he was still there after the move.

Damn, I guess I better go buy more Bucks.

My story was with a Buck Strider when they first came out... the lock on it was funny and he had it fixed and back to me ASAP, no ifs ands or buts.

OH,ONE OF MY STORIES INVOLVED A BUCK STRIDER TOO.LOL..I don't wanna talk about it and Joe doesn't either i'm sure, but it was quite the episode .LOL

Wow I couldnt have typed it better Dave!

The only thing I would add is a true blessing to the Buck collector and buyer alike ;) He is also a blessing to Buck!!!!!!!!

He has helped with my countless questions about Bucks and displays. Sometimes even on his own time ;)

Let me add my kudos for Joe.. The Buck company is lucky to have such a dedicated employee.

He has gone above and beyond the call on more than one occasion for me.

Thanks again Joe....

...and lest we all forget...Whether he worked for Buck or "El' Cheapo's Used Cars", he's just about the nicest guy ya ever want to know. I haven't spoken or corresponded with Joe lately, but every time I do it's like writing to a friend I've known for ages. That's just how Joe is...Like I said...just a nice guy...:thumbup:

Ditto to everything has been said here!!! They just don't come any better than Joe; he has a special place in the hearts of all Buck collectors.

i can not add any thing but more cheerleading, praise..
and my own personal thanks to Joe for the help he has given me!
some how i do belive that the only place he has ever worked at was
Buck Knives
IMHO he should be a VP instead of director... ;)
but i guess he would vote for a pay raise instead! :D
now there are some others that trouble shoot for customers also and
ENA is one heck of a lets get you happy person also!

Joe goes all out and then some ,He is great for Buck knives:thumbup:

That was my experience as well. It has been some time since I needed any service, but dealing with Joe Houser was a pleasure and the results exceeded my expectatiions. I hope he keeps doing what he is doing for a LONG time.:D

Joe would be an asset for any company he works for.
Certainly he has made so many things right and the value he brings to the Buck logo is priceless.

I'll add my voice to those who have praised Joe's dedication to customer service. I recently purchased a custom 110 with BG-42 and stag scales. I thought the scales were too mis-matched, so I sent it to Joe. In about a week, a new knife with excellent scales arrived in the mail. Joe and Buck certainly live up to their reputation. They have my business.

Wow! You guys dont know what this thread means to me. :)
I have to say, I am only a reflection of my hero, Chuck Buck. This is how he wants his customers treated and thats good enough for me. He is a real class act and he just makes you want to make him happy as an employee.
I guess I can say the same for this bunch as well, the knife community here on the forums are like family. :D

Joe, please consider doing a book on Buck!!!!!We need it !!!!!!!! You know so much history...and data....

No doubt Joe goes the extra mile for everyone. If you think about it, it's amazing that he makes himself available for such requests. I don't think I know of another company out there where anyone can get direct access to someone in a position to really help you. I'm just thinking aloud here...(Sony, Honda, Maytag, General Motors, Apple)...hmm...nope. I don't remember a single time I've gone on the Apple website and there has been an Apple rep reading the forums and offering help. They mainly keep them there for people to help each other.

Joe, you do a great job and your attitude and the company's have made me a lifetime Buck customer.

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

I just want to Thank Joe for taking care of me real fast... What a guy... They really do care at Buck about us... Joe, I hope you work for Buck for a long time...

Thanks again,
Armand Sr

Joe and his staff are WONDERFUL:D. They just restored a 184 BuckMaster for me..Joe THANK YOU!!! Joe noticed the pompel was differant and replaced it right there in the Customer Service Office....Your Company is the BEST. My first knife was a Buck and the Buckmaster you helped me out with was a replacement for one that was stolen when I was in College. The origonal knife was given to me by my Dad when I was a Boy Scout..I now have four children who first knives will be a Buck. Two of them went with my wife and I on a Tour of Buck Knives Factory..The other two are not old enough yet...Soon. Thanks Again
