Last Wednesday Paul Hilborn posted a fine picture of a Case 1970 62087 Red Bone Jack, I had commented on what a great looking knife it was and a fine example of Case red bone. Paul posted later on that day how he had bought it new with money he saved up mowing lawns & with allowance money, I told him it was money well spent.
I woke up to a message from Paul stating he wished to send me a back up of the same knife, I was truly touched by his selfless act, we exchanged a few Emails I said it was not necessary & Paul explained he was in a processes of downsizing.
Fast forward a few days, I went to the mail and opened up the already generous offering by Paul and there was a note stating I hope you can use a Buck Stockman as well?
I am truly touched by the acts of members of this extended family, as I said to Paul it would be great if I could cook a meal, all get together and eat and drink a few brews. Paul thought that would be great & what a scene it would be when it came time to carve the meat.
Thanks Paul, I can not express my appreciation enough.
Pete

I will post better pics in the daylight it's dark and dreary today, although it just got a little brighter.
The Buck 301 is my first Buck.

I always suspected that Paul was one of the good guys and now I know that my instincts haven't failed me. Well done, gents.

Pete - that´s great! Both knives are great looking and especially the Case is a real stunner. And the Case has some personal history of Paul at its own.

Paul - a great generous gesture!

Good on you both!

As Jack already posted above: Fantastic! :)

Very cool, Paul. That's very generous and down right folksy!
Congrats Pete. I'm sure you'll smile when you use them.

I had no doubt Paul was one of the good guys. That Case is the twin of your other one, Pete. Nice!

Pete, I'm happy they arrived to you in good shape:thumbup: And please believe me when I say this---my gesture is nothing special because many others here have done so much more.

My mom told me when I was little that "it's better to give than to receive" and I didn't understand that until I matured and it is so true.

I just want to thank everyone here for all their info, kindness, friendship and knowledge that is shared amongst us all. I receive WAY more than I give and I just want to give something back in some small way.

There's just so much that's wrong in the world today (very evident in the news recently) and this is such a great retreat from all of that;)

Thanks:thumbup:

Paul

My Thumbs Up to you Paul!!

That was such a classy gesture!
What a great bunch of folks we have here.

Incredible, a couple of winners for sure. That Pen has a character all its own, and the 301 looks to be at the ready for a wide array of tasks.

Good on you stich, and Paul..what a fantastic Gesture!
Folks, I have e-mailed Paul on several occasions, also had the pleasure of buying some absolute outstanding knives from him as well, Paul in my opinion is an extremely nice guy, and I feel privileged even just knowing him the small amount that I do.

His avatar sorta gives it away.

Beautifully done, Paul.

Pete, your serpentine jacks sure look nice together!

Thanks ~P , my peanut now has a big brother to look up to:-) the #87 is a nice size a little bigger than the peanut but really no bulk added, the rounded edges make it vanish in the pocket.

Terrific! Everyone has said it already, but wow, every day I read something that tells me what an amazing place this is. If only the rest of the world were like it, could you imagine?

Thank you for your generosity Paul, and congrats Pete!

Paul is a true blue good guy. I too was a recipient of his generosity within this last year. I hope he sticks around these parts a long time....
