Gday guys - finally got my ESEE 4 and Izula, and after tinkering around with them in the last few days, WOW. What can I say?
It makes me wish I hadn't wasted $400 or so on other knives (other brands).

Being in the Australian military, I've been looking for a knife such as the ESEE-4 - perfect size and weight, perfect ergonomics (not slippery when sweating out in the desert), stays nice and sharp, great chopper, GREAT kydex sheath! (Luv it!!!!), and the versatility in attachments (molle versatility = win win win)!! AND, it's actually Tek-lok compatible, as well! I'm in love!! Now, if you guys could design the perfect woman, I'd probably sign up and start saving up for one, knowing that it will be perfect in every way!! (especially if it comes with a life-time no-questions-asked warranty) :D

I think I've just become a MASSIVE ESEE fan - I've ordered more ESEE cutlery even though I don't need it - the ESEE 4 does everything well, and manages to stay concealed under the uniform all day without being a hassle.

I keep seeing pictures here, and it's almost making me a knife addict!! - actually, an ESEE addict - I want to now get ESEE 5, 6 and 3, just to be able to feel it in my hand, and to complete the collection (ESEE 4 and 2 x Izula's, and I have another ESEE4 and Izula on the way)...

Sheesh, the Defence Force really needs to pay more... if only we got these issued

So thanks Jeff Randall and ESEE! Great knives, GREAT quality control, and great follow through :thumbup::thumbup:
So how do i sign up for the ESEE Anonymous/Rehab sessions?

(PS - how can I get those handle screws that read "Rat pack"?)
PS2 - did you pick the Street name, or did the company street name pick you?

Wow it seems that you're serioulsy hooked mate. Congrats

PS1: These screws were on a very limited edition of Rat Pack knives, so not a chance right now.

Share some pics from Down Under with us when you can ...

Welcome DoctorDan!

The ESEE-4 & Izula are great companion knives.

I think that you are hopelessly hooked my friend! Enjoy!

Thanks guys,

I'll try and get some pics with an Aussie touch to them ;)

I've been doing a series of Knife Review Videos from an Aussie defence member's perspective on YouTube. I can't help but to keep going back to refer/compare to just how great a knife the ESEE-4 is, especially for Defence/LE. Just feels so right. Why did they have to make it look so nice... I can't bring it upon myself to bash the crap out of it in the woods, haha.

(here's a vid review I did on the Gerber LHR: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtgBAzaYr4g)

Thanks guys,

Hey Doughnut,
I'm sure I'll get abused for saying this (sorry! in advance), but I can' really consider those knives as tactical for my use... you could convince me of the HEST, but the other two... slightly not so...tactical? :o

I couldn't help myself - I did a Vid review on the ESEE 4:

Thanks for the post and for being here, Doc Dan!

OMG - is that REALLY RAT cutlery, or just someone posing as the company?
If you're the real deal, PLEASE submit a tender to the Australian Defence Force (specifically Army, muwahaha) for suplying knives to us Aussie soldiers!!
If you needed someone in the Australian Army to "field test" your whole range of knives, I'd be MORE THAN HAPPY to do so for you! :D ;)

I checked out some of your new vids on youtube. You've done a great job DocDan. You present well and you make a great deal of sense without being pretentious - a valuable resource!

Keep safe in the ADF! And welcome to being a fellow knife knut!

BTW - I saw you've got a box for a Recon Scout, snap!
