I am in the midst of other activities this afternoon, so I will not be able to post the details of this until later.

I received a package in the mail today from sitflyer. All I want to say now is "Thank you Duane! I have both of the knives you so kindly sent me in my pocket today."

The generosity of the members of this forum is amazing!

More later, I promise.

The rest of the story.

Thursday I posted in qncygnnr's thread about what makes a small traditional folder a peanut, that one of these days I would really like to get a Schrade 12OT. Yesterday I received a PM from sitflyer titled "I need your address" in which he said:

"I saw your post in the what makes a peanut thread and thought about one of my knives...it's not exactly what you mentioned, but I bet you never saw one like it before...soooo, I'd like to let there be some mystery to this and send you a little Old Timer treasure that I got at a hardware show many years ago."

Since we live only a couple hours from one another, and he sent it priority mail, the package arrived today. Not only did it contain the mystery Old Timer, but also an Uncle Henry.

Here is what he sent me out of the kindness of his heart, a Schrade Old Timer 18OT Mighty Mite, with an unusual blade etch: "Compliments of Schrade Cutlery 1998", and a Schrade Uncle Henry 705UH Chairman, both about the size of a peanut, and both in excellent condition!

The people who populate this little corner of Blade Forums are amazing! Once again, the kindness and generosity of the folks who hang out here delights me.

Thank you Duane!

Great looking knives and a great gesture! I´m sure, you´ll be happy with them.

Duane - that´s another great gesture from a great guy!

That forum is such a wonderful place. A place of extraordinary gentlemen!!

Duane, you've got a heart as big as those hands of yours! :D

Very nice knives. Sure you'll enjoy them Doug :)

According to Duane's correspondence, the 18OT was never carried or used, the 75UH sharpened and only carried rarely. They are indeed brand spankin' new!
