Well as most of you know about two weeks ago I went and got a bench grinder and a set paper wheels. I want to say thank you so much for everyone that has helped me with these wheels. Especially richard who helped me numerous times, even over the phone. I talked to a bunch of you through emails also and you all helped me alot. So thanks again. I came here to say this because tonight was my first time to accomplish a good clean edge on the grit wheel, and then polish it on the paper wheel. It came out razor sharp. I still have a tiny bit of burr close to the kick. But the rest of the blade is clean, polished, and scary sharp. All in about 5 minutes. Which would have taken probably 30 to 45 on my diamond stone and sharpmaker. Sorry for the rant I was just really excited. Oh and in the pic you see the very edge is polished and then there is grind marks below this, these grind marks are from where my father previously was sharpening it.
And the pics,
And the knife this edge belongs to is th second up from the bottom. Its a custom skinner one of my fathers old friends made him while he worked at a steel plant.
