A little under a week ago i recieved my new BK2 in the mail, and while i thought i was a fan of becker knives before, a knife has never struck me with a feeling of awe in the same way as when i first held The Beast in my hand.
Grinning from ear to ear, waving it back and forth, slicing cigarete rolling papers like thick copy paper. The handle filling my hand like it's made specifically for me, and the weight... Dayum!

I now definately have a new favorite knife, and i'm so happy with it that i felt the need to personally thank Ethan Becker for designing a tool of this caliber, and also Ka-Bar for selling them at a price that's just a fraction of its worth.

So far i've chopped up a downed 2" birch tree to make a baton, demolished a couple of seasoned oak logs (one of wich had a knot i just couldn't get through and had to beat the blade out of it), cut cordage and doing just about every knife related task the last week, and it still pops the hair right of my arm.

The only complaint i have is that it has a poor sense of memory. It seems to have forgotten that it's way to thick for fine work. Sorry about that haters:D

Got a BK2 lil over a week ago and loving it. Thick a$$ little mistress it is.:D I also think it slices well for how thick it is for delicate work. Think I'm gonna get "THE BEAST" fairly soon too. Great picture.

The 2 was my first Becker too! And I guess my son's also, as he took it back home with him. So, I bought a 7 to cry on, but when it arrived I couldn't make a tear - imagine that! Maybe next, a 16? Just to make sure, you know...

The bk2 and 10 and the 9 tie equally as my favorite beckers as of this moment, but I do change my mind from time to time.
After cutting. Some vines and saplings I cleaned and oiled my beauty.

Believe me, both KaBar and Ethan thank you. Now treat yourself to a BK16, you deserve it, your worth it and you put up with a lot of crap, you've earned it.

Are those Tommythewho scales? What kind of wood. Really like those.

Yes they are tommythewho scales, they are made of Bocote wood took me 3 months to find them,
Was going to put the same on all my beckers but couldn't find any tweener sized scales in this wood.
The discription actually said Bocote #1 so may be different grades.

The "#1" is not a different grade,it's just the way tommy knows wich is wich as he make several scales out of same wood.i only know this as i got quite a few walnut scales from him.that said you can get more bocote scales for all your beckers.

Thanks man I just didn't know what the #1 signified.
Wish I knew there were easier to get now most of my beckers are wearing tommythewho's scales
Just different wood on each one. I guess if I really decided to go with just bocote on them all it would be very easy to sell the other scales. His work is excellent.

Eventually down the road I think I'll make me a set of wood scales for my 2. Until then it will be the stock goodness.

I got a 2 and it is my main shed blade... If I need to cut string, rope, cardboard or split wood for the wood stove it handles all the tasks easily. Even if I am sitting by the fire passing time whittling wood and having a beer it is what I grab. I have micarta scales on mine but have 3 sets from tommy and they are equally well suited to the tasks. My fav beckers are the 2 and the 9 for hard use which is impressive that the 2 can go shoulder to shoulder with the king.

There's certainly i sa lot of love for the 2.
I do have oter beckers, more specificaly bk13, -14 and -15, and i love them more than any of my knives from other manufacturers, but what really does it for me with the bk2 is the handle and its ability to field dress a school bus.
I really am craving a bk5 these days though. The combbination of the big becker handle and trailing point blade really has potential to match the bk2 in awesomeness;)

@truth-seeker: Those really are some sexy looking scales. I might have look into getting me some wood scales eventually. But i need a 9, 5, 16 and an RBK first.

The 2 is good but the 9 rules the roost.! I am BK poor and have to beg for food and I am sleeping under a Bridge down around Vonore.! Anytime you are down there look me up as I am the one trying to catch a fish that I can use my BK on.!
I cry a lot though...** lol
