I just received a gift by mail from Randy and thank him for his generosity and for being one of the contributors to the pleasant atmosphere and for sharing knowledge and enthusiasm for knives on "the porch".

The alox pioneer/soldier are probably my most frequently used knives and I often have one on me even if I'm totin' another traditional as well. So this knife will get used quite a bit. He included a coin with the knife which is a tradition that we also have in my family. :)

Thank you, Randy

Sweet-looking Pioneer Jake :) I know from first-hand experience how generous Randy can be, and in my book, you're a very worthy recipient my friend :)

I, also, received a gift from the Christian brother, randy. I will take a photo and post the details tomorrow though. Had to rush out to work today.

You're a good man, randy.

Congrats, thats a great gift! The Vic Pioneer is my absolute favorite knife and I too have one on me nearly everyday even if I'm totin' a more traditional slippy. Great job R Redden!

Kudos for such a kind and thoughtful gift. The Pioneer is arguably my all-time favorite SAK. In fact if I were forced to own only ONE pocket knife for the remainder of my days I would be hard pressed to justify choosing any other knife. It's got a great selection of useful tools and yet is slim and very pocketable.

Wonderful gesture and great knife. The orange alox is a beautiful bonus.

Good on you Randy my friend - Jake is also a very generous person = ...well done folks! Nice reading.

Another knife I "need". Good looks, slim, color choice, and the selection of tools has been serving since WWII, and longer! How could you go wrong? The pics are great, really as always, but they do give a very good perspective of it's size.
Thanks, Neal

Oh I didn't even see the as-ground copperlock. Beautiful, love that finish on Case blades most.

I have also found Randy to to be extremely selfless and generous, even when things aren't going the best for him.

Good on you, Randy!

Congrats on the orange Pioneer, Jake, and thanks for starting this thread. In my book, you're a very deserving recipient because of all your informative contributions here (including both photos and catalog cuts of some impressive old knives)!!:cool:

Nice work Randy. You're way too generous, but more importantly Randy is one of the most kind and caring folks around. He's the real deal.:thumbup:

That is right! i shared what randy sent me awhile back in the Carl's Lounge, since its not knife related. A family heirloom pocketwatch! and a silver coin :D
