I was surprised when the postman left a package from HI, since I usually remember that I have a khukuri on the way. I was even more surprised to open it and find a beautiful horn scabbard holding an antler-handled khukuri by Bura. Words can't do justice to the beauty of this piece, and my poor pic isn't much better. All I can say is "thank you from my heart, dear Yangdu". You are truly one in a million.

The "U/V.B." is Bura?! Going by http://www.himalayan-imports.com/kami.html, I thought his mark was L.B., and that this one was Vim Bahadur...

The IIRC the U.B. stands for Uncle Bill and was placed on all Khukuris since his passing. The makers mark should be on the other side of the blade from the U.B.

Heber, that's exactly right. Lal Bahadur Bishwakarma ("Bura"=Old Man) uses the crescent moon as his symbol, along with the BirGorkha symbol, and the initials LB in Devanagari script. The front side has the Devanagari characters for HI, and UB in honor of Uncle Bill Martino.
