Just wanted to say thanks to everyone here for all the great information. I've been lurking around, reading the posts on the BK&T Campanion and I'm happy to say that the mailman delivered one today. Unfortunately, it was to dark to head outside and play when I got home but, the sun will be up soon enough.
I've had my eye on one of these for some time but never seemed to get around to picking one up. I'm sorry I waited so long, its a fine blade. Shaving sharp out of the box, excellent sheath, and it looks darn near unbreakable. Its small enough so it won't attract too much attention of any other hikers I may encounter on the trial but substantial enough to handle any job I can think of in my neck of the desert. We are planning a hike in the Grand Canyon this fall and this should be the perfect blade.
