Today, right "out of the blue", I received a Kershaw PE satin Shallot as a gift from one of you guys here at the Kershaw Forum. The person who sent this to me wishes to remain anonymous, so as hard as it is, I will respect that wish.

Today started out pretty badly for me, as when I woke-up this morning, I had a severe pain in the rt. side of my abdomen, along with nausea. As an EMT/Medic (since 1976), I know some about emergency medicine, and I thought that I was having apendicitis. Somehow I fell back asleep and when I woke up, the pain was gone. I still feel alittle sick to my stomach, but I think I'll be ok. I didn't call an ambulance, or go to the hospital, as I don't have medical insurance, and couldn't imagine trying to pay that bill from the ambulance transport and hospital testing/etc....(As some of you might know, I was charged $2000 for 9 stitches and 2 shots a couple years ago from our same local hospital.).

Anyhow, this gift really came at a perfect time, as it really lifted my spirits, and lets me know that there are people who care about me, even if they don't "know me from Adam".

Wow, very nice gift. One day, I aspire to also have random pains in my abdomen, and also receive random gifts, just like you.

Trust me on this...You do NOT want to have (severe) "random" pains in your abdomen. I thought I was a tough old buzzard, but that pain brought me to tears (as did the Kershaw gift I received today).

hope it ended up being nothing and that you have much (safe) fun with your new shallot. i got to handle one at NGK on my trip and it was a thing of incredible grace and beauty....

look at me going on and on about these things
 
Yeah, I'm looking forward to eventually buying a Shallot, just as soon as I order a RAM, a few leeks, a Needs Work, an Offset, and about a dozen other Kershaws.

My wife tells me that I sometimes pinch her in my sleep. I start out nice, but then :eek:.

She knows better to kick me, even when I'm dead asleep, as she knows what a Krav Maga nut I am...(She once watched me take on two guys who were beating up on one guy.). She has never had a black eye or fat lip from me.:D.
 
Glad you are feeling better in body and spirit, Dann.

That Shallot is probably sharp enough for you to get that appendix out yourself, should the need arise (hopefully it never will). ;)

Hope you feel better glockman & I hope it was just gas or something.I realize I'm just a noob here,but I took an instant liking to you considering we have the same taste in knives & firearms:D.Plus you're one of the less nitpicky & just moderators on this forum(with the exception of maybe...Brian Jones).Stay healthy & enjoy your new shallot:thumbup:

glad to see that it wasnt anything serious with the pain in the side. now, remember Dann, the edge is sharp! im sure you can fill in the rest :D :D :D you dont need any finger pain either
 
Yes....people here are extremely kind and generous. I'm glad you are feeling better, as any good knife knut would be upon receiving a new toy! :D

I'm glad to finally be a part of a friendly online community! Way to go guys! :thumbup:
