thanks to all you guys. i recently found out that i have severe nerve damage in my right elbow and well im not allowed to do anything anymore. I use to pitch in baseball and played rugby forever. now if i hit my elbow too hard i need surgery to fix the nerves. Now the thank you. i really have no hobbies anymore until i just stumbled upon a flipping video on youtube and it really has givin me a great hobby that will get me thru with no sports.

Calming and quiet hobbies are good for everyone; even athletes benefit from "down time". And there's no hobby that's more interesting and varied than knife collecting/using/accumulating/trading.

Check out the Wilderness and Survival sub-forum here, lots of friendly outdoor-oriented people. You can stay physically active and healthy without playing organized sports.

Might I also suggest looking at the Tomahawk section here. I started looking at it about three weeks ago... yep, I have a hawk on the way. :D

Welcome to the forums Oaklandas248:). Knives are a great hobby. I'm sure you'll find yourself getting into all things EDC-able soon enough as well:thumbup:.

A warm welcome to the forums, Oaklandas!

You have chosen a great hobby / avocation that will give you many hours of enjoyment. The forums here are the best forums for 'all things knives' you will find. I have found very few forumites that I don't respect and have found that most are willing to help out where they can, regardless of the subject.

I look forward to your input. :)

You mean ever?

Did you get the injury from repeatedly pitching baseballs? It does happen, it also happens to martial artists that shadow box really fast.

You got to take care of joints...
