Seriously, thanks. When I started on this website, this was my knife collection:

(the SAK's and the old camillus aren't shown there, have had all 3 SAK's for a while now.)

now this is my knife collection:

And that picture, which i took yesterday(!) doesn't include my latest purchase...

my.php

a Kershaw Junkyard Dog Serrated, which is my FOURTH(!!) Kershaw.

but that shelf picture does include the CRKT Alaska Bwana which I bought... like... on Monday.

Think I've caught the bug yet?

now if only I can find the Byrd Cara Cara FRN and a CRKT S2... I guess that'll be next week.

My wallet hates me.

You all were right.

I have no regrets! This site is just bursting at the seams with knowledgeable, enthusiastic knife nuts. Just, someone stop me when i start going on about how i'm buying my 5th Busse, ok?

HA! You've got a lot of work ahead of you!

Looks like a good start, though.

It's better that your wallet hate you than your wife.

You must not be married.....

how do you like the needswork and the jyd

needs work = GREAT if rather strange knife. It's hair-shaving sharp, you can get a rock solid grip on the handle due the shape, and the AO makes it a no-brainer to operate - just flick the finger stud and you have a killer work blade with a fat grip. Keeps an edge well - I think it's Sandvik 13c26? I'll have to look the site again. Only downsides are - it's freaking bizarre looking, not sheeple friend in the least, and the clip is ridiculous - it's almost impossible to shove onto your pocket. It does stay in place, though. I got a great deal on this knife - $17 new in box, at Davi's in raleigh.

JYD - just got this yesterday! It's a gift to myself for the volunteer work I'm doing - i'm helping out at a massive charity bikeride out in coastal NC and i'll be working on the docks, loading and unloading supply trucks so I figured that was a good excuse for another Kershaw. The textured G10 scales feel great, the lockup is rock solid, and you can also shave with this one. It's not AO but the pivot is so smooth and the blade is so heavy that it's just a flick of the wrist and a flip of the index finger to open it. Very impressive knife, can't wait to try it out tomorrow and sunday. I also got a great deal on this, I think the foliage green G10 scales are out of production? got it for $31, also at Davi's in Raleigh... which btw is a great shop for knives as well as firearms.

Stop now, the knives you already have will last you for a lifetime. Nice stuff. What's next?

I have my eye on a Byrd Cara cara G-10 with a half-serr edge, and I think the other knive dealer in my area (Beck's) has a CRKT S2 on some huge clearance so probably that. Beyond that? Who knows. I really want a Spyderco Endura in the white FRN, and get acclimated to the hole.

i have heard much about this so-called buster of Sod. Is it just a blade pattern that's made by a bunch of different companies? Any recommendations, then? :)

Yes. It is a Traditional design. A time-proven hard working folder. I would say that; Case and Eye-Brand Soddies are at the top. Do check some out.

And several Moras...and Opinels...and Okapis...and Douk Douks...and a Mercator K55...and... :p

i do rather like my Opinel No. 8 stainless! Good whittling knife, easy to sharpen, and it was like $12.

and I want a Douk Douk... just so I can say I have a DOUK DOUK. Best part, admit it :)

What's a Mercator K55?
