The guys who hang out here are such good guys that a man could get tired just saying thank you,

still I have been meaning to say a public thanks to Ryan (R Grizzle Leather) for a while and finally have something to "post home about" he he, so thought now would be the time.

Some time back Ryan sent me a big box of leather just for me to mess around with, just cause he's a nice guy!

Awesome as this was I also found a whole host of exotic and expensive pieces in there like alligator and snake skin etc, I'd have a picture of it all but it lives in my dark and dingy shop so the pictures don't come out so well, on the other hand I did finally pluck up the courage to make a sheath out of some of it for a case knife i recently re-handled WIP thread is HERE.

With some advice from Ryan and other leather wonders around her eI don't think it came out to badly either.

thanks again Ryan!

Very nice Pete,I'll bet your neighbor was very pleased with the new old Case.

No need to thank me, your very welcome! I also appreciate the beads you sent me. I have 3 of them on knives and I'm trying to decide which knife to put the other one on.

That's a great looking sheath and re handle job!

Nice work on both of those, and I could not agree more about the guys who hang out here.

Meant to mention that I'm not just thanking those that have sent stuff, the best gifts here are the company and good will I see offered up all over the place by old and new comers alike, and the biggest thanks is to JK for bringing together such a great group and making knives we all love to talk about!

thanks for the comments to :)

Nice job, Peter, and very nice thing to do for your JK friend, Ryan!

Peter was a good choice to send the stuff to, as you can see, because he will definitely put it to good use.

best

Nice job!. My wife makes leather purses, so I have the tools and expertise to call on and really should give making leather sheaths a try. She uses a garment leather for her purses and a sheath would require something a little thicker, but the concepts are probably similar. She makes some extreme stuff with a lot of beading and a Native American flair.

Anyhow, you did good. Maybe seeing the results of your efforts is what I need to motivate me. Thanks for sharing! :)

I've been recommended 8oz vegetable tan leather, it's what you see there

I think she'd probably have you making some great sheaths pretty quick :)
