I recently posted a comment about a knife/keychain tool ALLHSS pictured in the daily carry thread. It was a Moonpie knife and I commented that if my daughter saw it she would have me on the hunt for one. He sent me a PM saying he would be glad to send me one and so he did. It arrived today. A very generous act and one very happy little girl. She was beside herself and wanted to immediately take it with her. Here's a shout out to Logan for a very generous act.
Thanks for making her day!

This is a great place to be! Thanks again.

I love the "love" around here! Thanks to all who make this a great place to be.

Great gesture ALLHSS, making a kid happy is the greatest. I hope to meet you at the GEC picnic if you can make it.

How cool and very generous. Love me some Moon Pies. Her face looks almost as happy as mine when I'm stuffing my face with em'. Haha guilty pleasures.........

I stay in awe of the kindness that happens here in the traditionals. Some of the kindest people in the world are here. Proud to be here.

Thanks for sharing, this is my favorite kind of thread in any way!

And as Linus says, just great to see happy kids. :)

Judging by the size of that smile those moonpies must pretty good.couple of questions.
What exactly do moopies have in them?
And is the knife a special moon brand for slicing up the pies or is it a knife that looks like a moonpie?
I'll look for an Australian equivalent.at this stage the "Wagon wheel" is prime suspect.thats choc coated biscuit sandwich with marshmellow and jam in the middle.
Cheers.

No problem, I'm glad she likes it!

To the members who've said they've never had a moonpie or don't know what they are, they are the bee's knees. They're three layers of a soft granola type cookie with marshmallow in between two of the layers, all covered in different flavored chocolates (definitely not a health food). When I was young my dad would bring me along to work sometimes and we would always get a moonpie, so when I saw a few of these keychain tools on the auction site I snatched them up. Gave one to my dad, kept one, and had one left.

Very sweet gesture! Plus its great to see little girls with knives :D

Speaking of sweet- now y'all have me craving a moon pie! The banana flavored ones are incredible

From Wikipedia:

MoonPies have been made at the Chattanooga Bakery since 1917. Earl Mitchell Jr., said his father came up with the idea for MoonPies when he asked a Kentucky coal miner what kind of snack he'd like to eat. The answer: something with graham cracker and marshmallow and dipped in chocolate. When Mitchell's father asked how big it should be, the miner looked up in the night sky and framed the full moon with his hands.[2]

Precisely how and when people began the custom of eating Moon Pies with RC Cola is unknown,[2] although it is likely that their inexpensive prices, combined with their larger serving sizes, contributed to establishing this combination as the "working man's lunch". The popularity of this combination was celebrated in a popular song of the 1950s, by Big Bill Lister, "Gimmee an RC Cola and a Moon Pie.".[3] In 1973, NRBQ had a minor hit with the song, "An RC Cola and a Moon Pie."
