I just go back from vacation and in my mail box was a Swamp Rat Vex. I really like the feel of this knife. Thanks for hooking me up, with the knife, Amy-O.

The Vex is the Bussekin sleeper knife....I hope Jerry takes notice and pumps out some more EDC type knives with no choil and talon hole.

Your Welcome!!!!

Did you have fun on vacation???:D:)

+1!!!!!!

I doubt it will happen in the Busse line, but I can hope. No choil at least, and no talon hole would be a big bonus too. I'd buy every single knife released in this design, until I was kicked out into the street, penniless and alone. At least I'd have good knives to survive on while living in those streets, with no blade space wasted on silly choils and useless talon holes

I'm confused. I thought the choil was the finger groove curve just before the blade... which the vex has. Either way, I freakin love my new black vex so I got another black and tan G10. They feel absolutely great in hand

A choil is typically after the handle - the finger groove on the vex isn't what most people would call a choil in the traditional sense.

Went to Gatlinburg for a couple of days. It was fun, but crowded. I'm sure Busse doesn't want to hear this but I dropped a few bucks at the Smokey Mountain KnifeWorks just down the road from Gatlinburg. It's always good to go on vacation.

Only kidding..I am just glad that you had a AWESOME Vacation:)

It's kind like they tried to sneak a choil in there, and it wound up retreating into the handle. I Think the vex' choil (if it is one) is a good design for a knife of it's size.

As far as the talon hole. I think the only time I really was like WTF:confused:, was the talon hole on the BCK (Busse Cake Knife:p)...

Wasn't it Gatlinburg in mid july where "a boy named sue" found his dirty maingy Pa dealing stud?

As a matter of fact, it was.

This post brought to you by a man who, for ten years, lived within 30 minutes of Gatlinburg and has carried the name "Stacey" all his life.

Truth is stranger than fiction. Oh, and I have my Mom to blame for the name.

See... I knew someone would know what I was talking about. "Its that name that helped to make you strong"

I concur for sure!! The D2 knives from Wauseon have been IMHO some of the most seriously overlooked blades out there. The heat treat that Busse/Swamp/Yard gives them goes a long way to mitigate D2's general tendency for chipping of brittle edges. The hammer-blow torture test that the Swamp had a deputy sheriff do shows that, with the right heat treat, D2 can achieve very high levels of toughness.

I love my vex! It's a great design and feels really good in hand. It's my new backpack knife.

Well hopefully no one got part of their ear chopped off this time!
