Thanks for the responses concerning my question on the scribe or centering tool. Yes, I was referring to the blade edge. Next question. My dear sweet wife presented me with a face shield for xmas. Was a funny site at 7am xmas morning running around with the shield on in boxers! Now, I gave it a try and found out that it fogs up much quicker than safety glasses. I do wear a face mask. Any ideas for keeping the shield fog free for us heavy breathers? I really like the idea of the shield because I can wear my cheater glasses on detail work.

Thanks

rhettfcr,

Don't know how this will work, but for scuba diving, we spit into our mask and rub it around to coat the inside of the glass then rinse with water. There are also anti fog applications that can be purchased at dive shops if you have one in your area. I really can't say how well either of these will work because we don't breath directly into our masks much while diving compared to working in a shop with a face shield. But then spit is pretty much free, it might be worth a try. I hope it helps. Let us know if it does. Come to think of it, it seems like I have seen anti fog sprays at the local Checker auto parts store. You might check that out as well.

Good luck,
Rick

You can try drilling some small holes in the mask around your mouth and nose area. that would let some of the moisture escape
also the top part of the mask; heat rises if you let a little heat out it will stop the condensation

This reminds me of JASON!
Did you get a chainsaw for xmas also?
;)
Yep antifog and little holes will work.
A white hockey mask works well also if your tiring to make an impression!

I use plastic polish on my motorcycle helmet. Or you can use anti-fogstick or cloth for snow ski goggles, available at most sport stores. Or you could just not breath, but think the anti-fog stuff would be easier.
