Some of the lurkers are addicted to HIKV, too. Since I never see a post from them I am always amazed at how much they know about the goings on in the forum. Some of them know more than me! Which as an afterthought is not saying a whole hell of a lot.

One of my favorites is the old Scottish Highlander I have mentioned. He has about a dozen of our khukuris and shows few signs of letting up. He also paid for the goat that was sacrificed and then eaten during Bishwakarma puja in Feb. of this year + a lot of the booze! His picture hangs on the customer hall of fame in BirGorkha, too, but he has yet to make his first post on the forum and probably never will.

Perhaps lurkers are intimidated by the keen intellect, incisive wit, and all-encompassing wisdom so characteristic of each and every forumite. Either that or they just don't want to have anything to do with a bunch of wierdos obsessed with curvy knives.
 
Lurkers do suffer from HIKV! I bought four more at the recent Reno gathering. It is always fun explaining to my wife why two is better than one and why 8 is better than 7.

I have been lurking and I want to be buying. Cash is tight though and I will post again after I own an HI original.
 
I guess I am still a "lurker". I do usually check in with the forum daily, right after checking my email. I love seeing the new HI pics, with a particular fondness for the Nepal trip pics. And yes- I do own a few HI khukuries. You know me Dhaju.

When I was a lurker I think I suffer more ... all my words, joys and frustration were trapped inside my self alone ... I KIV all my FAQs in my own head and I have to search for answers bit by bit and piece by piece from every thread daily! The worst case is when as a lurker I still didn't have any Khuk ... I walked, eat and slept with Khuk in my mind ... just like the time when you fall madly in love with a very pretty girl and you only can see her pict & her story ... what a pity!
