I have a 13 year old son who is just as much a knife nut as his old man. When he saw me reading and responding to your forums he asked if he could join. Well--- I've seen some things on forums that are not even good things for me to see and talk about. I'm not a prude but I am very concerned about what goes into my sons head, and maybe I'm a bit over-protective. So I told him, like always, I would have to check it out first.
Now-- I'm not the purity police, and my stamp of approval may not be worth much, but I still wanted to thank you all.

Second, thanks to all the moderators.
Finally thanks to 4000 great guys who love knives and have a great deal of respect for each other. This truly is a great forum.
Keep up the great work.

At 13, I'd say if he's fairly mature he can handle the whole site. Any younger or with more of a possible "violence issue" you might ponder steering him away from the tactical forums, *maybe*. That's a tricky issue.

Purely as a hypothetical, I wonder if UBB will ever allow the creation of accounts that are limited as to what subforums someone could get into, without resorting to the fairly "clunky" password-protection areas? I'm really just thinking out loud here; for the most part the forums are a far more sane place than the average TV cop show. Even when we get into a "gory discussion" on the tactical forums there's usually discussions of practical, legal and moral issues to go with it.
