I just wanted to say thanks to Bruce and Mike (they know why).:thumbup: I'm sending them identical Altoid fire kits on Monday.
The kits include:
JK Nessmuk Tin Knife
Going Gear fire steel
County Comm SO-LED
2 Band-Aids
Antibiotic ointment
6' of jute
2 pieces of fatwood
All you need to do to start a fire cut 3-4 4" pieces of jute and pull the jute apart until you have a frayed ball. Use the spine of the knife to scrap the fire steel. These are really nice fire steels that will throw spark all the way ground while standing, so don't practice inside. Once the jute catches fire, rest a piece of fatwood on top.
