I would just like to thank Buck knives for their excellent customer service. I recently sent in my 110 to have the blade play fixed. It came back to me in great condition.
I will say that my only problem is that they resharpened the blade, even though i did not request that they do so, and it looks like someone went a little crazy with the belt grinder. It is very sharp, but I have about 10 percent less blade than when I sent it in. Its not a big deal, as this is a working knife, but next time I send a knife in I will probably request they not sharpen it.
Other than that I am very satisfied with my experience.

Thanks Buck!

Zach

I sent a ag stag 110 in because it wasn't closing properly, and the tip was sticking out of the frame,It was a brand new knife that had not cut anything yet, with a razor sharp factory edge that was perfect......they re-sharpened it and reduced the blade by quite a bit, which i never understood as the blade was brand new and razor sharp to start with.I dunno

i wouldn't be surprised if they have a policy that every knife that comes in goes back re-sharpened.

I would imagine they have some such policy but im sure upon request they'd forego the sharpening. Never sent a buck back for sharpening before but from the sounds fo it I might not ever try it.

So sorry to hear about that. It is common practice to buff and sharpen every knife that comes in. I am frustrated because we do it as a free courtesy on repairs but it turns out to have caused you some grief instead.
From time to time we do get requests to leave the edge alone and we even get requests to leave all the scratches and dings alone. Those marks tell the story of the knife and every ding is special to the owner. I can respect that.
I would recommend that if you do send in a knife, please let us know if you have any special instructions and we will certainly follow them if at all possible and if not, we will contact you first.

No worries Mr Houser, it is really not that big of a deal. This knife is a working knife and meant to cut, not to be looked at, although it is handsome. I am a loyal Buck customer and will continue to be because Buck makes fantastic quality knives that can be had at a good price, and Buck knives are kind of a family tradition. I carry a 112 in my back pocket almost ever day. I also think your Customer Service is second to none, and I appreciate your feedback Mr. Houser.

Thanks again Buck Knives

This was a good review of an old recommendation about sending knives in for work......communicate.

And communicate clearly.

Same goes for ordering a knife from the Custom Shoppe. State your needs clearly.

It's an investment of time that will save everybody time and trouble later.

:)
