I just wanted to write a quick thank you to everyone on the site and specificly, the Busse and Wilderness & Survival Skills sub forums. I have asked many questions since finding this site 2 months ago. Everyone has been helpfull and patient with my stupid questions.

When I got here, there were a lot of knives I wanted, and because of the economy I could not afford to buy the things I wanted outright. I sent a lot of e mails asking about trades, and I am sure it eventuly got on people nerves. But, thats what I had to do so I could get the knives I wanted at the time. So, if you were in this catagory, a seperate appoligy goes out to you guys.

Since coming here, I have picked up about 6 Busse knives, 2 Fehrmans, 1 BRKT, and a custom from Breeden. I am working a trade for 12 more Busse knives. When and if they arrive and the deal goes through, there are a couple I will trade for so I can get my grail knife. As much as I love it here, this site is killing my funds, and my relationship as well, my girlfriend is about to kill me.

I will try and cut this short. Nate, and a few other guys have really taken me under thier wing to teach me, a special thanks goes out to them, and they all know who they are. Just wanted to let all the guys in these forums know I appreciate you all sharing your information with me, and pointing me down the right path so I dont make dumb ass decisions. This site has a plethera of wisdom for the man who wishes to learn. Keep up the good work everyone.

I have learned more about knives and keeping my ass safe while camping than I ever thought possible.

Not everyone may say it enough, but I truely appreciate everything.

Hey man, you're welcome. Just send one of the Busse knives my way and we'll be all square.

dbltap45acp ,,,,,,, there are a lot of great people here, and after reading the above,,,,you'll probably fit right in amoungst them. On a more important note,,,,, What's your Grail Blade,,,,,,,,,,,,, and where's the pics of the blades you've already acquirred ????????? :D

You must realize, no pics,,,, it didn't happen !!!!!!

Guyon, PM inbound for shipping info. LOL

Well, my grail knife is probably not what most would consider a grail knife. I really want to pick up a HH FSH, and a SHBM down the road if I can find a good deal. The FSH is just a damn sexy knife that could be an all arounder for the stuff I do. The only pictures I have at the moment are horrible. I will be trying to take some better pictures when the weather gets a little better so I can use natural lighting.

Pictures of these great knives should not be taken on the kitchen table. Give it a few days, I will get some good ones.

Hey Elliot...that "quick" thank you was almost as long as my little story last week. :D

I feel the same way you do about this place. And I'm willing to bet you'll pay it forward the same way I try to: by trying to be a good, giving member when you can. WE make this forum what it is. That includes you.

Pull up a chair; sit a spell. Glad to have you.

It folks like you that make it such a great place.

As far as the girl goes, you only live once so be good to yourself and enjoy doing what makes Elliott happy.

Glad to have you in the mix and hope you will be around for a long time.

Thanks for the welcome, and I do try to give when I can. Just the other day there was a guy on another forum who really wanted some 1911 grips to finish his build. I had a pair sitting around that I havent used in years. I sent them to him for free, and it made his day. I like to help when I can. If nothing else, it makes me feel good to help people.

I am a LEO, so seeing the good in people isnt really a daily thing any longer. The department cut back on officers and hours, and it hurt a lot of familys. Playing out doors and this sit has been the only thing that has kept my sanity. I hope to be able to keep helping when I can in the future. Since I have the extra time, I would help as a moderator as well if needed. I help on LTW and 1911.org as well.

I have been a firearms instructor for years, but knives are a new passion for me.

Anyone in the WY area should shoot me an e mail, we can do some prairie dog hunting and call some coyotes. When were done, the first beer is on me.

BTW, I was kidding about my girl, she supports me 100%, and she wants a mistress now. She loves my knives and guns, since we started dating, she has bought two guns for herself and now is looking at knives. She has expensive taste too. She is looking at having a full house custom built 1911 by Novaks to match one of mine that she loves. Never been camping or shot a gun till me, and now she loves both. The day I got my FFBM she just smiled. I went and took a shower, and by the time I got out she had already chopped down a small tree in her back yard. Thats why I love that woman.

Welcome dbltap45acp and congrats on putting a nice Busse collection together in such short time. This place is definitely a class act with a lot of great people:thumbup::thumbup: Glad to have you part of the madness!

Hey the stupid question is the one not asked!!! Ask away Bro, there is a world of knowledge floating in these pages and the people who post them. I'am asking q's all the time. By the way, Welcome dbltap45acp.

o.i.n.k sounds like your doing great now in tradition of busse forum lets start the day with a drink. jk. sit back and enjoy the ride..

Nice haul you got dbltap45acp, i'll echo a few others with 'where's the pics?' and i'll agree with you that a kitchen table isn't really the best for taking pics on but hey a little camo on there and maybe some guns and the table becomes very much in keeping with many of the pics posted here. Either that or you need a suitable stump, that's true old school Busse pic staging.

I'm always impressed by the amount of LEOs on here, in the UK our cops carry at best a leatherman. I'd shake the hand of any one of them I saw with a Busse, maybe i'll need to look more carefully at the US cops next time i'm over.

Good to meet you Elliott! It was good exchanging emails a while back. As a fellow LEO, I know what you mean about seeing the good in people. There is a great group of people here on the forum that have been great to me as well. Collecting knives is a great diversion for me. I don't know which is better, Busse knives or the people associated with them :)
