I posted not too long ago about possibly trading away my sebenza to fund a purchase of an XM-18. Several of you advised me to keep my sebenza and save for the XM. Well that is what I decided based on the fact that I really do like my sebenza. My favorite part is that it is such a great slicer. Better than a para 2 that I had.

When I got the XM in my hands I was impressed with the fit and finish, the ergos, etc. It is a great knife and will definitely have a spot in my rotation. However, it certainly doesn't replace my sebenza, it compliments it very nicely. Despite the XM being buttery smooth, rock solid, and confidence inspiring, etc. it doesn't compare to the smoothness of my sebenza (although pretty darned close).

Basically what I am saying is that they are both great knives that can't replace one another. I am very happy that I have kept my Sebenza.

Glad you listed to us:p:thumbup:

I thought you may miss the Sebenza if you sold it. I much prefer the straight handle of the sebenza over the large drop in the XM handle. I also prefer the thinner blade stock, lighter weight, and overall design of the Sebenza.
They are two very different knives.

They really are both great knives. I have both too and am glad I didn't have to choose one over the other.

I missed my Insingo after selling it. Just picked up a nice used one and carrying it every day thus far. I got it with a not so great edge and it still sliced oranges very well. That blade grind really rocks. Once I sharpened it, it's been awesome.

I don't have the micarta, but did on a small Sebbie before. It's pretty nice. Glad you like your Insingo. :)
