Hi All,
I just want to thank everyone who has orders in with me for their patience. This has grown a lot faster than I expected and I have obviously fallen a little behind. Here's an update of what I have been working on. I have been working with a very good friend of mine to write a CNC program for my handles. I am supervising every aspect of this to assure the highest quality and precision. This will allow me to do the tapers and slots all on the computerized mill. It will be much faster and much more accurate. Please note that the only CNC work will be the bulk milling and slotting that is the same on every knife. It is the repetitive work that only adds to the time and labor. The design and construction will not change. I'll definitely post some pictures if anyone's interested. I can then have a bunch of blank handles ready to be skeletonized, slotted or inserted or whatever else you guys come up with. I can assure you that the quality will not go down one bit, in fact the precision will only improve. I will still be doing all of the styling, fitting and finishing by hand. I am also going to start stamping serial numbers on the inside of the handles. I can also do initials on the spine if requested. I am still working on orders but you should see a great improvement in lead times in the next few weeks.
Thanks again and please feel free to email me with any questions,
Have a great Christmas and Happy New Year,
Eric "Mer" Maier
