I have been on these forums for a while and I always find my way coming back to this section! I just ordered a BK14, I already have a BK2...I know this is not a lot, but I always enjoy coming in here to see what kind of new mods people are doing to make their Becker "theirs". I cannot wait to get my 14 and get started on the process. I have never carried a fixed blade except for camping as a kid, but I am going to try it out. I see all of the beautiful mods and it is not helping my addiction to knives at all. I really want to strip and patina, might learn how to do convex sharpening also. I just wanted to stop by and thank all of the Beckerheads....hopefully one day I can get my number and more Beckers!:D

Welcome to the circus that is Beckerdom Smoakie!

I am doing research since I am a noob to modding knives. Trying to figure out patina and convex grinds. I really like Geektechnica's patina on his 14!

Welcome smoakie!
The 14 and 2 will make a great pair.
As far as modding goes, well...seems like the sky is the limit.
I've seen some dark patinas that look really nice.
I've patina'd my 11 a few times but find myself liking the bare blade look the most.
The blue/bleach etch looks good on Beckers.
I just can't bring myself to put a permanant etch on mine.
I did some jimping on the 11 also.
At first I did it with a dremel. Came out a little sketchy.
I just recently went over it with a small chainsaw file. Much better results! Looks better too.
And using a round file is better on the structural integrity of the knife. Ethan told me so! Makes good sense.
Good luck on the 14!
And don't forget the pics my man!

here is the family.

You need to get some scales or at least a cordwrap on that poor, nekked 14. :D
Just kidding.
Nice family, the start of a great collection.
