Just received my Bk14 and RSK MK2 in the mail today. All I can say is wow... i see what everyone is talking about now. This being my first becker knife and one of the few fixed blades i have i am very happy with the purchase. The purchase you all fine BF members helped me on. In my past post i was wondering if i should choose Becker or Esee. Figured the BK14 was best of both worlds and same with the RSK MK2 (Becker knife, Esee type steel).
To be honest the only thing that kept me from buying Esee was the handle. Just plain didn't like the shape. If im gonna be swinging it in any fashion i want that pinky ramp the beckers have, plus I have large hands and the becker handle was a tad bigger from the looks of it. And i like the idea of "Making it my own". Which brings me to my question about customization.
Personally i like the handle already... many like the Micarta handles. Is it really that much better? And im wondering about stripping the knife of the coating and put a petina on it. Just because i like the look of bare metal better. But I have 0 experience doing this. Figured id try the Bk14 first. Just wondering what methods you guys have. Ive looked at a few, and i remember seeing a RSK MK2 that was next to a rifle that i really liked allot on the forums. Anyhow i just wanted to say thanks for the help!! I think the Junglas is my next one!
