Thank you for all the advice you guys have given me on the forums!

Now with my set of DMT EC to EF stones i can now get a shaving sharp edge and will look into buying a EEF stone and then some strops, but one step at a time!

I found the key was to take my time stop rushing and light pressure worked the best! Figured out that i was pushing too hard and was not spending enough time on each stone!

Again, thanks guys for all the advice and hope to get some more from you guys! Now back to sharpening! :p

That's 99% of the battle, right there.

Figure that part out, and the rest will take care of itself in time (and with practice, practice, practice :)).

Congratulations!

I'm still workin on it myself... all I got was the fine stone (red one)... guess I'll try out the whole spectrum. By chance did anyone ever try one of those angler things DMT makes...

hey skippz, im using the dmt aligner to keep a consistent angle when im not sure of myself, but the problem is that if you put the whetstone on a base the aligner's stands are not very long and the angle settings are very limited since it has to make up for that height.
