I just wanted to say thanks for all of the great info in this forum. I started looking through this thread because I wanted to find some information on refinishing axes. My grandfather was a farmer, fireman, and professional carpenter (all at different points in his life). When he passed I got all of his handtools. So I immediately jumped at the chance to refinish an axe when my grandmother found one of his fireaxes that had the handle broken off.
First I wanted to learn and I started reading throught this forum. I also bought a couple of vintage heads off the bay (one hatchet and a grub hoe), so i didn't have to practice on my family heirlooms. I could see this becoming a serious hobby. One that is hopefully less addictive than my love for Bussekin blades. Thanks again. -Jason
