I was in a local knife shop looking for the latest deal on a nice new slippie and saw the most amazing thing. A bright pink SAK Classic. I wandered around a bit and started thinking about one of your old posts about giving needy sheeple an SAK since it is not at all threatning and very handy. I decided to try an experiment. My lovely wife puts up with my knife nut ways, but doesn't care to much for my hobby. I remembered your story about giving many of your family members, women included, SAK classics, so I thought i'd try it. Low and behold she actually uses it! My 7 year old daughter confirmed it for me, much to my delight. She isn't quite the knife nut that I am, but I'm beginning to soften her up and her nice bright pink SAK stays in her purse. To take it a step further my sisters are upset that they didn't get a cute little pink pocket knife. Next visit to the shop you can bet I'm picking them up one. One sheeple conversion in the bag, I'll keep you posted on my progress!!

Funny you should mention that. My wife gives my knifeknut ways the rolled eyes treatment. When she asks to borrow a knife, if it is bigger than my SAK Classic, she doesn't like it, and asks for my Classic. So a few weeks ago I got her one of her own. It was the first time I have ever seen her happy about a knife.

I truely believe the sak classic has converted more people to knife carriers than any other knife. I know its worked in my family for all the women and even some non knife men, who all carry a classic on the key ring now.

I gave my wife a little Classic once and she loved it, but because of the rules at school, even staff aren't allowed to have a knife on campus. So, I gave her a Swiss Card for her birthday. No knife, just a small, sharp, letter opener that pulls out ;), plus the things she really likes such as scissors, tweezers, etc., in a nice, flat, sheeple friendly carry that gives her an edge (pun intended) while she slips under the rules. She couldn't find it for a while and was really upset with herself. She found it again and was quite happy.

My wife has started carrying a little SAK knockoff that was given away to everyone at last years Nation Wild Turkey Federation Banquet. Personally I will never carry a Chinese knife, but at least she is getting some use out of it.

jacknife has much knowledge to give.. I have learned allot from that fellow. For example, I just got some good advice on cleaning pocket-knives much more easily and economically in one of his recent threads.. But to get back on topic, ladies dig any knife with a scissors in it. So a SAK, especially a nice pink one is a fine choice for a fine lady.. Great job realstagman.. Please keep us in the loop whence more sheeple are corraled in the fold.;) :) :D

You asked for an update, so here we go. Three more of the ladies in my family with SAK classics. Found out that my mother has been carrying one that belonged to her big brother. He raised my mother, so he was very special to her and I thought it was great that she always carried his little keychain knife. Now for the other two. I was down at the knife store last week and called my little sisters. They have been hounding me to get them pocket knives after seeing my wife's Pink SAK. Picked up a transleucent pink one and a purple one. I'm worried that the folks at the shop are starting to worry about my manhood!! Three new sheeple into the fold! How about everyone else? Any new converts?

My mom and sisters all have multiple SAK Classics that I've given to them as gifts. Most recently they received the version with white scales with flowers. One got the purple, one the green, and the other pink.

My wife (also of the put up with/rolled eyes treatment ilk) keeps taking my knives.

Bought a Woodswalker...its in the kitchen (which is fine, its an excellent kitchen paring knife and I use it).

Bought a Spyderco Kerambit a while back (I know, hardly traditional)...she took it. Its on her nightstand.

Maybe I should buy another SAK for "me.":)
