Thanks, I've been thinking about those next too. Is the Delica just a smaller version of the Endura?
Essentially, yes. It really gives performance that seems larger than it's size. They are both excellent knives and just pick the size, and blade configuration you like ( plain edge, combo, and full serrated).
I have the VG10 Endura Full flat ground, VG10, plain edge in my pocket as we speak ( the FFG are FRN gripped. Light yet very tough) That flat ground blade ( choice of colors gray, brown, green, blue ?) sharpens really easy, performs extremely well ( it's VG10 ! ) , and carrys so easily with it's light weight.
The ZDP 189 Endura is not the one I recommend to first time Spyderco buyers. Wait until you get to know them, see if you love them like many of us, then buy the higher performing sports model if you choose. It's a bit more advancedin care ( sharpening, corrosion resistance is slightly less, and it is not as tough ( higher hardness, up to rc 65). As I said it's the sport model.
I've carried Enduras since 92, upgrading when new models come out that have something I like. None of them are actually worn out, even the 92 model I carried 8 years.
The Steel model is pretty stout. Heavy, but stout. The Cara Cara Byrd is pretty good, and well built for the money too. That 8C steel really sharpens easily and takes great edges. Very nice to learn sharpening on.
