I managed a gun store from '88 to '90 (between college and law school). I bought a Harpy for opening boxes and used the heck out of it. I carried it for years, and then it became my "gardening knife" for many more years. It saw some serious use, and some serious wear.
I recently sent it back to Sal & Co. to be sharpened with $5 to cover shipping, and received it back in a week - shaving sharp. I wouldn't have thought it was possible. The nice new edge made me want to carry my old Harpy again, so I took off the clip last night and Flitzed away the worst of the scratches and crud that had soaked into it over the more than 15 years of hard use. It's riding in my pocket today in the office, as useful as it was the day I bought it, and I feel like I have an old friend back.
Thanks, Spyderco!
