Glad to help as best I can. I haven't yet soaked the leather handle on my SOG Bowie, it's on my project list for the evening.
I hope have some Neatsfoot, I'll see what I can find in the garage.

whatever I learn about the handles will definitely get posted, that's what the Forum is all about. Way back in the good old days I learned that lesson from the best: "pass along all the information, somebody may need it."

"the best" in this case refers to a Marine Gunnery Sargeant who taught me a few of life's best lessons.
