Thanks to Yangdu and HI for the extra effort to get me a knife. My first kukri and its a beaut, well ok. In the world of polished perfection, it ain't. But the KLVUK is perfect for a first kuk. Very well made, solid and sharp out of the box. A great knife for clearing brush and getting used to the unique balance of a kukri. I'm looking forward to deciding on the next model.

I adore my KLVUK. Be it your first entry level khuk or dozenth, it's just a really, really useful blade. I keep mine in my truck in a shoulder holster draped across the back on my seat. So far I've used it to whack down some overgrown weeds that grew to the size of small TREES at my mother in law's house, and I used it to prod along a large snapping turtle sunning itself in the middle of the back country road that I take to work. I hated to disturb his wake-up rays of sunshine, but I didn't want him to get run over either. I also didn't want to lose a finger or have him come back around and get my toe
The KLVUK was just enough reach to push the grouchy ol' reptile to the other side of the ditch and out of harm's way.
