I contacted Gil and Linda Hibben a couple months ago about an older piece that I had seen of his, and inquired if he could make another one for me and he obliged. Well, a couple weeks ago Linda contacted me to let me know that my knife was ready and she had a story to tell me. She told me that as Gil was making the knife she told him how much she liked the design. Well, on Mothers Day he showed her the completed knife and she fell in love w/ it. He told her, "Happy Mothers Day, this one is yours, since you liked it so much I made you one too."
Its already an honor to have such a legend in knifemaking make you a knife but to think that his dear wife has a twin of mine makes it that much greater.
So thank you to the Hibbens once again. Now, check it out.
4" blade of 440C w/ a high mirror polish, nickel silver guard and buttcap w/ octagon shaped Cocobola handle. 8" overall.
