It's That time of the year again.....our Second Annual Thanks Giving......

Last year we announced the winner on Thanksgiving. This year I'd like You to have it by then.....(Hopefully)

As always, I'm a little behind....but I've got it started, I'll maybe post some updated pictures in the days ahead? ....Maybe. haha.

This year I'm calling the knife "Food Truck".
As you can imagine, it's a kitchen/food based design..... Actually, it's My version of Tops fish/frog market knife. I've never seen, held, or used That knife...it's Not a copy....just That style.

Mine is going to be made from Very Hard 8670.
64HRC. My current kitchen knife is made with this steel and heat treatment, and I'm constantly impressed with how the edge behaves, and it's definitely not babied....not in our house.

It Can and Will rust ... I think the Blotchy look will be nice with these scales....

We are using Maple Valley Richtite for handle scales, with black vulcanized liners, and probably some stainless hardware of sorts, idk yet?
I think it will look nice, but utilitarian.

I also think This knife will become your favorite.

Please see the Rules below, and I may add more.
*I copied these from last year's and can change for Any notice, Any reason..... Good Luck!

5. I have final say, and can give, or Not give to whoever I want.

Well whether i qualify or not i look forward to seeing how it turns out!

I’m in Australia, but if I qualify I’m in otherwise best of luck to all others and thanks for a generous giveaway 🙂

Favourite Christmas dish - prawns for me. Christmas is summer here and means beer, cold smoke ham, and plenty of seafood. I tend to eat a mountain of delicious sweet prawns over the holidays.

Count me in. I really dig your style of knives. Looking forward to seeing the finished product! My favorite dish is the what most people call "filling" but we call stuffing. We make it out of 13+ loaves of bread and pounds of butter, celery, onion etc. I always have help but I am the Stuffing Master... I will definately get a pic of the mountain if I'm selected.

I guess it depends on how easy/$ it would be to ship???

Would you be able to post pics of you cooking dangerous snakes, spiders, and kangaroos?
Haha

I buy knives out of the states all the time no issue. I could just pay the shipping if I were to win if that makes it easier? Usually $20-40.

You may receive photos of them eating me. It is Australia after all!

I'm in! Thanks for your generosity and the opportunity Crag.

I am a friggen foodie so it's hard to have just one favorite dish but if I am forced to choose it's gotta be my mom's (RIP) recipe for sausage stuffing. For protein - I like a brined and then air dried in the fridge turkey - either oven roasted or spatchcocked on the Weber. Of course ... a homemade savory giblet gravy is a must to pair with mom's stuffing and smashed garlic potatoes. How could a holiday meal be complete without finger-foods like deviled eggs, pitted black olives and sweet gherkin pickles? Since the stuffing and smashed potatoes are all low calorie ;), we'll have baked candied yams with marshmallows toasted on top and green bean casserole (a midwestern holiday must). What goes better with turkey than a homemade jellied cranberry salad? To sop everything up off your plate ... some yeast rolls.

Take a break from eating, undo the top button of your fat jeans and veg on the sectional watching the game. About halftime as you wake out of food comatose ... get a half slice of warm pumpkin or apple pie topped with cool whip. After all the festivities you say to yourself, "next Thanksgiving ... I'm going to try to eat a lot less". Ya right ...

How long till Turkey Day? I'm hungry now!

In, if you'll have me! I'll be sure to find some wild critters to disassemble with it, given the chance. If it tips the scales in my favor I have a source for frog legs (it is a froggy knife after all). Regardless of the species, I would absolutely post pics.

Oh, and my favorite Thanksgiving dish is oyster dressing doused with gravy and scooped up with random bits of dark meat turkey (plus a random pinch of dried chiles).

Teaser pics.....
Bevels are done, thin.

I'm getting better, my knives are starting to look Better..... But this one will be No Queen. She won't be glamorous....
All Work.....Sharp & Dangerous.
With a steel that can be sharpened on the curb while she's on the sidewalk during a potty break.
Dangerous.

Adding the Willy Rule......No Battoning mesquite!
Haha.... You're In!

Hey, that was a passaround knife not a giveaway. At least not for the time I had it. So this rule will be oppressive on its future owner(s).😉

Regardless, I'm honored to have a safety regulation named after me.

I just Have to say it.....I know You & I wouldn't listen to those rules anyhow

Finish will be......As is.
My only grievance with 8670 is it's near impossible to keep looking pristine during the make.... Me, personally I Like patina from use, but when I make knives for others I want them to look New.
Not this knife. It will look like it looks.
I'm doing this for Fun. I want it to be fun for everyone, Myself included....haha.

I just gave it it's first Hot water wash, which should start darkening it somewhat.
I Love It.
