Thanks, grown-ups ...

NPS ? Here on the upper Delaware river they were supposed to set up a cell phone system to provide coverage along a 15 mile stretch --twenty years ago !! They set up a system for their use but not for us peons ! SHAME !

Thank you, Teddy Roosevelt!

Not just here, but Teddy Roosevelt's idea of National Parks quickly spread worldwide. The first-ever National Park is Yellowstone, of course.

The second-ever National Park on the entire planet? Royal National Park in Australia, founded in 1879.

Open space for wandering and exploring, and shared common areas, are long-time human traditions. Only in modern times, with 7 Billion people on the planet, do these areas need to be fiercely protected so that future generations can have a chance to experience the unspoiled natural outdoors.

Thank you President Grant?
The first national park, Yellowstone, was signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant in 1872
