well my first knife and sheath are done. the knife i finished is the one i made out of the old lawnmower blade and all i have to say is it may be ugly but it is super tough and strong and it holds an edge well. the sheath fits good but i have to work some kinks out. The knife actually has a small recurve to it and the buldge gets stuck on the narrow part of the sheath. I am gonig to try to loosen it up tonight. The kydex i have i think is the .9 and it might be to thick for it to flex on that part. Also the dimple i use to hold the tang in place doesnt flex as much I think next time i will get the thinner material.

Thanks for all you help. Right now i am working on a simple knife made out of fresh stock. I have it cut out, the blade ground. and polished with 240 grit and am going to have it heat treated tommorow at a friend of mine that i found out made knives and has a oven. I am not sure on the handle yet(first one was paracord) i really like the cord but i think i should but wood on this one. I dont know how to post pics but when i can i will post some.

thanks again for all your help guys. I look forward to making more knives and sharing them with yall.

Heheh, wonderful community, innit? This summer I'm gonna make my first folder too. It's great that you can find so much info online and if you got a question you just ask here and you get swamped with good techniques on how to proceed...
