Jack Black said a few weeks back he had a few things to send to my son and would wait until more accumulated. Well I get home from a long day at work to find a package from Britain sitting at my door. I open it up and find not only a few things for my son but a few for me as well. :D
I don't have pictures of the coins and other pieces, but before I cracked open a beer I took a quick picture of this great church key he sent me.

Thanks again man! You're what makes this place great.

Glad the package arrived Tom (that was pretty quick). Great beer too

It doesn't seem like you sent it out that long ago.
And the beer is one of the ones I got on vacation. I have no idea what it says...maybe Andi can chime in? :D

Here I am :D

Well - it says "Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier" which means "Original Schlenkerla Smokebeer" and it´s brewed at the bavarian Reinheitsgebot http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reinheitsgebot - It seems it´s brewed somewhere in Frankonia, Bavaria. Schlenkerla is a typical term in that (newer) part of Bavaria at their dialect.

Oh, and it says "Urbock" on the front - that´s a special kind of brewing beer for special occasions, just take a look here for further information http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bockbier and has some more vol-% of alcohol than regular beer. (I remember I had once four Maibock (Maybock) a couple of years ago and was pretty drunk, and four bavarian beer is no big deal for a real Bavarian, but four Maybock is another story. Be careful :p )

You need to know that in whole Bavaria and even whole Germany/Austria beer is brewed at this "law". It means that no synthetic additions are added to the beer and everything is natural which makes a beer to a real "biological"-drink :D

Tom, enjoy that fine piece of bavarian/frankonian brewery, I´m sure you´ll like it.
Jack, that a nice thoughtful gift to a beer-afficiando. :)

Thanks Andi for the translation!
It had a very smokey and even coffee like taste. Very good. :D

Very nice Jack, yummy brew, Vangaurd your next shower you will wonder, did I hang out next to a fire last night? For some reason every time I drink one of those the smoke comes out of my pores.

Pete

At this time of year you drink RauschBier with WeiSSwurst (White veal sausage) and senf (stone ground mustard). Man, I miss that...

No, I think I only sent it last week. What's going on, maybe they finally retired the old one-winged pigeon they normally use to carry my packages across the Atlantic. I posted a package to another forum member at the same time, so it'll be interesting to see when that arrives.

Here's a pic of mine from this Xmas thread - http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1022267-How-are-you-all-opening-those-bottles-)
