Times 2 for the new handle on the Belt Hawk & for the great Schrade 8OT that snuck it's way into the box with the Hawk.
I'd been wanting to add an 8OT to my Schrade collection, but having the Craftsman equivalent I wasn't in a hurry to get one,but now thanks to John I have one!

I usually prefer a 1 or 2 blade folder for pocket carry, but after using the 8OT this past week while camping I have a new appreciation for the stockman pattern.

As for the Hawk...
I hate to say I broke the original handle while beating on it last year.:o
What can I say,I was trying to split a round that was a bit too big for the little Hawk & ended up smacking the forward part of the handle & it cracked on me.:(
Oh well,lesson learned.;)

Sooo..I finally got around to sending it back for a new handle, but I asked for a couple of mods & John was kind enough to accommodate me.(As usual :))

I asked for the handle to be narrowed/tapered towards the front to expose more of the spine & for lanyard tubes in the middle & end of the handle.
I put a lanyard on for now,but will make a D Guard for it eventually which is the reason for wanting the 2 tubes added.
I like the way a tight fitting D Guard locks a handle into my hand.

Here's an older pic of the original handle.(sorry,no pics of the break)

Thanks for giving new life to my Belt Hawk and for the 8OT John.

Looking at the pictures of the Hawk made me realize something. This was the first Hawk I made, but I did not mark it with a 1. I just noticed that the K is marked sideways, I don`t think any others were marked like that.

That Nessmuk trio looks fantastic.
Nicely played John. In my opinion, there are few if any pocket knives that compare to the 8OT and if someone doesn't have one they are really missing out.
I think there may be another thread like this one starting soon.;)

Yeah,I figured you were so excited to get it done that you forgot the 1 & the K looks normal to me being parallel to the edge.
looks good mike, congrats on all accounts!
Thanks Pete.

In my mind you can't beat a nice old Schrade.
I've collected a few since getting into traditionals & they are proving to be my favorites.

That is a great looking woods package. Pretty much any chore is doable with that set up!
Thanks grunt.

Cool! Good idea for the double lanyard holes.

The first hawk!

Thanks for the pictures and congrats on having number 1!

best
