Just wanted to acknowledge kbas generosity and show the porch a gift i recieved yesterday in the mail. I started a thread asking for reccomendations for a camp/ woods walks knife and shortly recieved an email from Brett(kba) offering to send me a mora to try out. I accepted and well..

Here it is

He also sent a little suprise in the form of an opinel #6. Well as i was opening the package, my girlfriend walked into our bedroom and promptly snatched up the opinel, oohing and ahhing all over it.

I didnt even get to handle it for more than 10 seconds before she claimed it as her own.

With that said, thank you Brett, and a thank you from my girlfriend as well. My next camp outing may not be for a month or so, depending on the weather, but ill be sure to report back to let you guys know how i like the performance of this very generous gift

Two great knives Fishcakes I know you and your girlfriend will enjoy them. Mora is my favorite food prep knife and Opinel is just an outstanding slicer. Brett is one of the finest members on the Porch and you sir are too. Congrats!

Yes...Mr. Brett is one of the finest in so many ways. Two great knives and looking forward to the performance report from you and your girlfriend.:D

Thanks. Im pretty excited to get out and see what this bad boy can do. Ive seen quite a few videos of them being praised up and down.

Im just a bit concerned for my girlfriend with knives. Seems like every time she uses one of mine she cuts herself, then blames me for making them too sharp:rolleyes: shell get it. Hopefully this opinel will be just right for her.

And thank you for the compliment, but i dont consider myself to even be in the same league as many of the selfless folks on here(present company included). The ridiculous amount of knowledge and generousity shown here on a daily basis still shocks me, and to be able to contribue to that feeling in any way possible is an honor

Excellent story, and confirmation that the good karma wheel keeps turning around here... Brett recently received a sweet fixed blade from another member in like manner

That is a wonderful gift. The 612 is my favorite Mora, and the No.6 is becoming my favorite Opinel. It has been in my pocket every day for a couple of months, no matter what else I am carrying, and it is the first knife I go to.

Lol, I wish my wife would get excited about a knife, but alas. :D

Glad it made it buddy. Enjoy it.

I got bored today and made a sheath for the mora too

Unfortunately i wasnt paying attention amd made the sheath a lefty... But im a righty:rolleyes:

Very nice, both the Mora and the sheath. No worry on the sheath being a lefty fishcakes, nothin wrong with a reverse grip:cool::thumbup:

Brett, your generosity knows no bounds, so glad your a member here:thumbup:

Another great story of generosity on the porch. Well done, Brett.

Fishcakes, I've been enjoying your thread that spawned this gift. I'm looking forward to hearing how you and your new Mora get along on your next camp outing.

Thanks, thats only the second sheath ive ever made and the first with a belt loop. If i put the knife in the middle of ny belt at the small of my back, i can grab it in a regular grip.

Great stuff! :) Well done Brett, and congratulations fishcakes, looks like both you and your girlfriend are well-equipped for a woods walk now
