A box was leaning against my door last night...

Inside was my new 12" Sirupati. I can't believe a blade this thick (5/16") moves this fast! Now I know what ya'll mean by HIKV...maybe I should've worn latex when shopping--never mind.

Thanks are in order:
to Rusty, for his endless praising of the 12"'s virtues;
to Tom Holt, for his endorsement of the 25" Kobra (a later purchase for me), because I've got tendonitis as well--he got me away from the AK as cool new home defender idea;
to Jim March, for his spot-on analysis of his "Skinnybeast"'s strengths & weaknesses;
last but far from least, Uncle Bill, for his endless patience in dealing with me.

Too bad we can't set up our computers to flash, warble, and sound general quarters when Uncle Bill posts a deal. Or else have pagers like the volunteer firemen with the local fire department. All over the world, people would be breaking speed limits and driving like crazy to get to

Come to think of it, the volunteer fire departments must have been why 20 or 30 years ago, a cop pulling over a speeding driver used to ask the guy in such a hurry "All right, where's the fire?" I haven't heard that phrase in years?
 
I have set my computer up so the screen flashes and it beeps every 10 seconds when a new thread is posted in this forum.Its really quite easy,only takes a few seconds to do.Well im off to bed now...hehe
 
Actually, on second thought it really should be "Thank God,Thank God,Thank God!!!!" than "Too bad" that we can't set our 'puter's up that way, considering our finances...

Anyway, I keep telling myself that but it doesn't seem to help much.

It only gets worse,or better,depending on your perspective! You have to have more! The more you see, the more you want.You even get to the point of rationalization! I guess I should be GLAD I don't own a computer, even though I missed out on the "Skinnybeast" and the light 20" from a week or two ago--I figure a 20" is about max for my little apartment (maybe if 20" Kobras in spring steel come on the market, I'll get one of those instead).

I do still want a 25" Kobra, but I figure that's more of a worker/campsite defender!
