Thanks to all of you who responded to an earlier thread about handle questions
Strangely enough, I got an added bonus the other day. I was looking forward to starting the search for all the parts, pieces, and whatevers that would help me build a few knives. I just happened to look out the back window and suddenly, the old crippled mongrel comes limping across the yard with a deer leg stripped of meat LOL. Now, thanks to the dog and the archives I have a few pieces of bone for handles. It's definately strange how things work out sometimes. Thanks again. Oh yeah, almost forgot the questions. How do I tell when the bone is dry enough for use? Also, could I soak a piece in alcohol for a few days to speed up the process?
