This is a personal message to "thank":p Rick Marchand and Andy Roy for my complete enslavement to forging blades. I was happy as a stock removal guy, just grinding away, and admiring from afar the works of Tai Goo, Shosui Takeda, Ed Caffery, Murray Carter, Shawn Mcintyre, Nick Wheeler, and many others. But it was Rick's blend of rustic yet elegant design, surperb funtion, and Andy's 3d Spalted Steel that really pushed(or forced if you will) me into the forging fire. Now I am forging any steel I can find; scrap, 5160, 1095, 52100, O1, A2, old cro-bars, hammer heads, saw blades, doesn't matter if it be steel...INTO THE FORGE IT GOES!!! HELL I FORGED A RUSTY SHOVEL INTO A SPEARHEAD JUST BECAUSE IT WAS WITHIN ARMS REACH!!!! I have the sickness and I don't see it going away in the foreseable future...thanks guys:p:p:p:p:p:p

To any and all who forge. Who or what inspired you to forge blades and why? What were your first experiences forging ie; successes and failures, what equip/material did you forge your first blades with?
