Hey all-
Kudos to Savman for his July 15, 1999 post entitled "Wayne Goddard news..."
I had posted earlier that I was looking for a new Spyderco, specifically a 'user' and was unsure about which to get. After deciding on a Goddard, I was bummed to find that only the lightweight was still available. Nice knife for the price, but I wanted micarta. So, after employing the mighty search feature, I found Savman's thread.
He scored himself a limited edition C18 with plain edge, GIN-2, micarta, with a cool storage pouch, and it was numbered. So I took the chance and called the Goddards this evening, they still have some- mine's on it's way! I'm kind of surprised more collectors haven't jumped all over this one, considering only 500 were made in plain edge with the micarta handles.
Of course, this was after I struck up a trade with another friendly forumite for a mint C16 Goddard w/micarta. Looking forward to that one as well. Whew, what a day!
I've always liked the Goddard line, but never heard that much about it here on the forums. Oh, well- thanks for the tip Savman.
The Goddards still have some of the limited edition C18's left. Plain edge, numbered, with zipper pouch, so if you're interested, give them a call. Very nice people.
So there you have it, success through the forums once again.
