A few weeks ago, I was chatting with Pete (Stich2442) and he told me that his local flea-market would be starting up again that weekend and asked if there were any patterns I was interested in. I mentioned that I liked the look of the TL-29’s I had seen so many pics of here, and I think it was the very next day, Pete let me know that he had a Camillus TL-29 for me and was busy restoring it. Pete sent me pics of the knife both before and after it received his attention, and though the knife looked to be in great shape before, he has done a wonderful job of cleaning it up, and has also put a great edge on it.

I received the TL-29 from Pete today and I am really pleased with it. I’m sure that many posters here are very familiar with the pattern, but it’s a new one for me and something fresh to marvel at. I love working knives and what a great workhorse of a pattern this is, and very solidly built. Like the British clasp knives, you certainly wouldn’t want to get hit round the head with one! The guys who were issued with these knives must have loved them, and I’m very pleased to now own one myself. What a great piece of history

Pete and I, like many others here, are lovers of craft ales, and with the TL-29 Pete included a great church-key, which I can see is going to be the envy of all my Irish friends in particular.

Thanks a lot for the great knife Pete, and for the bottle-opener, which I’ll look forward to using soon! ;)

Cheers

Jack

Jack, these TL-29s are really great knife. But somehow you need to be careful - they are addictive. I own already two of these Camillus´s. They are big knives, but the two blades give a lot of blade. And the used steel is just great, if you ask me... :)

Great gesture, Pete! I love this place!

Very cool Jack! Every knife Knut should have at least one TL-29:thumbup:

Quite thoughtful Pete:thumbup:

I love this place:)

It sure is a nice one, Jack. Like it was said, every knife nut should have one and now you do. Everyone knows Pete is an awesome man. Glad i can call him my friend too.:D

Thanks a lot fellers, I'm glad to be part of the TL-29 Club courtesy of Pete! :D

very well done Pete that's very generous of you, Jacks a great guy who himself is very generous. Traditionals is just fantastic.

Jack I'm happy to see it made it to you, I was not sure how customs would respond to the lock on the screwdriver, was there any hassle?

Like others have stated Jack is a great guy, as are many of the members here.

Pete

You're making me blush guys! I certainly feel privileged to be in such great company here.

There was no problem with Customs Pete, it's fine to import, buy, own, and (subject to having a 'legitimate' reason) carry a locking folder or fixed-blade here. Heck I was even looking at some great sword-canes in a shop in York the other day! :D I'm not sure how the locking screwdriver of the TL-29 would fit in with UK law, particularly as it's partly sharpened, but it's a great knife for which I'm very grateful :)
